History
Oak Ridges P.S. was originally located on Yonge Street and has been an established local school since 1898. The new school, built in 1999, assumed the name of the former school. It was named after the Oak Ridges Moraine on which we are located. We help our students “Soar to New Heights” and create an environment where "Everyone Contributes and Everyone Belongs"! Our school mascot is the Raven.
Facilities
The current Oak Ridges P.S. building was officially opened in 1999. The school has a library, a gym with a stage, an art and science room, and a music room.
The playground area is located on Richmond Hill's Parks and Recreational land, and this department owns and maintains the playscape. It has recently been renovated making it a beautiful space that the school and the community enjoy.
Oak Ridges P.S. currently houses three Regional Deaf and Hard of Hearing Classes. Two are for Oral Interpretation and one incorporates ASL (Amerian Sign Language). We are also home to a Community Class for students on the Autism Spectrum Disorder Spectrum. We are a full-day kindergarten to grade 8 school and the present enrolment is approximately 500 students.
Oak Ridges P.S. traditionally has been central to the Oak Ridges community. We are proud partners with a number of community agencies that serve our school and its community.
The York Region District School Board also issues permits for after-school use of Oak Ridges P.S.
